Ion exchange columns are used to remove dissolved radionuclides from boiler condensate water, reactor coolant water and fuel pool water. They use cation, anion or mixed bed resins.
The resin exchanges undesirable ions present in water with harmless ions. Thermon Heating Systems ion exchange columns use a built-in flow distributor for maximizing bed efficiency and have built-in resin retention screens.
